Canada stands in solidarity with the people of Lebanon. The Government of Canada mobilized quickly following the devastating explosion in Beirut’s port by allocating up to $5-million in humanitarian aid to trusted, non-governmental organizations to meet urgent needs such as medical care, food, and shelter. $1.5-million will be directed to the Lebanese Red Cross, while the rest will be sent in response to ongoing needs.
